Mr Elton Pllaha

Dr. Pllaha is an Albanian-born Maltese cardiologist. He graduated from University of Malta in 2006 and thereafter he practiced at St Luke’s and later Mater Dei Hospital.
He trained in general cardiology and received his subspecialty training in structural heart interventions at
Humanitas Hospital in Milan, Italy. His special interests are in treatment of myocardial infarction and coronary stenting, heart failure as well as valve interventions such as TAVI for
aortic stenosis, MitraClip for severe mitral regurgitation, left atrial appendage and PFO closures for stroke prevention.
He has a large experience in echocardiography including
transoesophageal echocardiography, contrast studies, bubble studies, coronary angiogram and stents as well as temporary and permanent pacemakers.
